On April 20, 2024, the City of Albany, Georgia held a special event that brought together the entire community in a unique and exciting way. The “Meet the City” event, presented by Albany GA, aimed to bring city employees, locally owned businesses, and other organizations located within the city together with the citizens of Albany.

The event, held at the Albany Civic Center, was a huge success with a large turnout from the community. Barbara Francis-Armistead, the MBEC Program Manager, was delighted to see so many MBEC tenants in attendance, eager to promote their businesses to the citizens of Albany. Mrs. Armistead said the following,” It is a pleasure to witness our MBEC tenants being able to display their business and the services available at our MBEC premises.”  This event was not only a chance for the community to get to know their local businesses, but also for these businesses to showcase their products and services.

The atmosphere at the event was one of excitement, with plenty of fun and information being shared among attendees. It was a true celebration of the city and all that it has to offer. The “Meet the City” event also featured gift card giveaways and other door prizes provided by the city of Albany government, MBEC tenants, and other businesses and organizations in attendance.

The event gave the citizens of Albany the opportunity to learn more about their city and the people who make it thrive. It was also a chance for businesses to make important connections and network with other organizations and members of the community. With each passing minute, the room buzzed with energy and enthusiasm, highlighting the strong and supportive community that Albany, GA has become.
